First Block

Cut four 3 & 1/2 x 3 & 1/2 squares.

After this, sew the rows together to make the block.

For the next block size, cut four 4 & 1/2 x 4 & 1/2 squares.

Lay them in a gingham pattern and sew them all together.

Cut several 3 & 1/2 x desired length strips.

For each 3 & 1/2 strip, cut two white strips, 1 x desired length.

Lay one 3 & 1/2 and place one white strip each on top and bottom.

Snip off the excess.
