In a food processor, mix the flour, salt, and sugar.

Add the cubed butter, then blend the dough until the crumbs form.

Add the water and stir until well incorporated.

Step 3:

Cover the dough with a plastic wrap and place in the refrigerator.

Refrigerate for an hour.

While waiting for the dough, make the filling.

Peel and chop the apples.

Step 5:

In a small heavy-bottomed saucepan, add the butter.

Once melted, add chopped apples, sugar, cinnamon, and nutmeg.

Mix, the cook over medium heat until the apples are tender for about 8 to 10 minutes.

Once done, remove it from the heat, and add the cornstarch.

Stir to combine then set aside to cool.
