Ditch the frozen ones, because making salisbury steak from scratch is way better, trust me!
Perfectly seasoned and tender hamburger steaks are cooked in a thick and savory gravy with onions and mushrooms.
This recipe is a straightforward dish.
Once its ready, form the mixture into patties, then they are ready to fry.
Transfer the cooked patties to the gravy sauce and simmer until cooked through.
Its a very simple recipe that comes together quickly.
Serve it overmashed potatoesor white rice.
Mix well with your hands.
Place it in the fridge for 30 minutes.
Lightly season them with your favorite all-purpose or steak seasoning.
Do not add too much as they are already seasoned.
Once the skillet is hot and the butter has melted, add the hamburger steaks.
Cook them for about 90 seconds per side.
Once done, transfer to a plate and set aside.

Make the gravy.
In the same skillet, add a little bit of butter, onions, and mushroom.
Cook until caramelized and tender for about 5 to 7 minutes.
Next, mix in the beef base, tomato paste, Worcestershire sauce, and remaining butter.

Add 3 tablespoons of all-purpose flour to the gravy and mix until well combined.
Cook for 1 to 2 minutes, then add the beef stock.
Let it come to a boil, then reduce to simmer.

Add the heavy cream and browning (if needed to darken the color).
Mix well, then season the gravy to taste.
Internal temperature should reach 165 degrees internal temperature.
Serve it over rice or potatoes.
