Storing them in areas where moisture is present is a big no.
Place your tools in a clean, dry place like a toolbox or cabinet.
check that to clean and dry them after every use.

Rinse it with water and dry it thoroughly to prevent new rust from forming.
How to Use Citric Acid to Remove Rust
Place the rusty tool in a container.
Let the tool soak for about 2 hours.
Spread the paste on the rusty areas of the tool and let it sit for about an hour.
Scrub the tool with a brush or steel until the rust comes off.
Step 4:
Rinse the tool with water and dry it well after cleaning.
The rust will dissolve without scrubbing.
