When four blocks are sewn together, they form four squares on the corners.
And when the stars are sewn together, diamond shapes form in the center of each one.
Isnt this block beautiful?
The border is from the main blocks, so there will be less waste for this project.
Making this block is so much fun.
I must admit this is one of my favorite star patterns.
Its clean and definitely lovely to look at.
So, if you are looking for a project this weekend, give this a try.
It will turn out gorgeous and perfect for wall hanging or a gift to your sewing friend.
Step 2:
Choose two print strips in contrasting colors.
Out of one of the strip, cut a 4 inch rectangles and a 6 inch rectangles.
On the other strip, cut 6 inch rectangles and 8 inch rectangles.
Place them on the corners where the two fabric comes together.
Sew right on the line then sew about 1/2 away from the diagonal line.
Cut between the seams and save the corner for the border.
Press the little corners open and square into 3 3/4 squares.
Step 5:
You need 8 rows with 7 blocks each for a total of 56 blocks.
Arrange the blocks just like in the photo below.
Add a 2 1/2 inner border.
Next, sew the border blocks into pairs, then sew them all together to make a border.
