For the other 19 squares, cut them into 2 1/2 squares.
Step 2:
Start with the four corner blocks first.
Sew a 2 1/2 background square and a 2 1/2 colored square together.
Next, get one of the rectangles and sew it to the unit.
Make 3 more for a total of four.
One for each corner.
Step 3:
Make the star.
Snowball the corners on one side of each 4 1/2 background squares to make the star legs.
Repeat to the other corner on the same side.
Do this for the remaining background squares.
Step 4:
Arrange the star.

Sew them together, then press it flat.
Step 5:
Make the next block.
Choose five 4 1/2 colored squares.
Place one in the center, then place the other four on the sides with the corners touching.
Sew them together to make the block.
Step 6:
For the first row, you need two star blocks and three secondary blocks.
Repeat for the remaining rows.
There will be 6 blocks down and 5 blocks per row for a total of 30 blocks.
