This project is very straightforward.
If you look closely at the block, you will notice it is made of half-square triangles.
For one block, you will need 16 pieces of HSTs.
You will surely master half-square triangles after making this pattern.
You will get 8 pieces of half-square triangles using this technique.
It definitely makes the process easier and faster.
Do the easy 8 method to make 8 HSTs.
Take your ruler, and draw diagonal lines from corner to corner in both directions.
Sew on both sides of diagonal lines with a 1/4 seam allowance.
Cut it directly on the diagonal lines, then in half horizontally, and vertically.
Set the seams, and press each one open toward the dark side.
Trim into 4 1/2 squares.
Step 2:
You need 16 pieces of HSTs for each block.
it’s possible for you to choose the same or different patterns.
Sew 4 pairs first with the colors meeting in the middle to form 4 flying geese blocks.
Arrange the flying geese and the remaining half-square triangles just like in the photo below.
Sew in rows first, set the seams, and press each flat.
Sew the rows together to form the block.
confirm to nest the seams.
Step 3:
Sew 4 rows with 4 blocks each to make the quilt top.
