Add the sliced carrots, celery, and onion to the pot and saute for a few seconds.

Step 2:

Add the broth and bring it to a boil.

Turn the heat to medium-low and let it simmer for about 15 minutes.

Add the shredded chicken to the pot.

Make the dumplings.

In a bowl, add flour, baking powder, and 1 1/4 teaspoon of kosher salt.

Whisk until well combined.

Next, stir in the milk until completely incorporated.

Knead gently with your hands, if needed.

Step 5:

Drop a heaping tablespoon of dough into the broth one at a time.

Stir the dumplings then cover the pot.

Let it simmer for about 20 minutes, or until no longer doughy in the center.

Step 6:

Pour the heavy cream and add 2 teaspoons of kosher salt and pepper.

Allow it to cool for a while before serving.
