This pattern is probably one of the most beautiful designs I have seen.

It may look complex at first glance, but trust me, its not.

These are just made using half squares triangles and cut into sub-blocks to make this stunning design.

Materials:

Note: you might just use two colors, or you might use different colors.

you’re free to trade different sub-blocks to make a more colorful quilt.

Place them on top of each other then draw a diagonal line from corner to corner.

Sew on the line, and trim a 1/4 seam allowance.

Open and flatten the half-square triangles.

Trim into 4 1/2 square.

Repeat with the remaining pieces.

Step 2:

Arrange the 4 pieces of 4 half square triangles into diamonds.

Sew them together to make a harlequin block.

It should measure 8 1/2 by 8 1/2.

Cut it 1 3/8 from the center seam.

Keep rotating and cutting until all sides are cut.

This will leave you with 9 sub-blocks.

Step 3:

Move two squares from opposite corners and exchange them.

They should now look like a bottle opener.

Sew them together with a 1/4 seam allowance.

This will be your main block.
