This pattern is probably one of the most beautiful designs I have seen.
It is called the disappearing harlequin windcatcher quilt byBrita Nelson the Questioning Quilter.
It may look complex at first glance, but trust me, its not.

These are just made using half squares triangles and cut into sub-blocks to make this stunning design.
Materials:
Note: you might just use two colors, or you might use different colors.
you’re free to trade different sub-blocks to make a more colorful quilt.
Place them on top of each other then draw a diagonal line from corner to corner.
Sew on the line, and trim a 1/4 seam allowance.
Open and flatten the half-square triangles.
Trim into 4 1/2 square.
Repeat with the remaining pieces.
Step 2:
Arrange the 4 pieces of 4 half square triangles into diamonds.
Sew them together to make a harlequin block.
It should measure 8 1/2 by 8 1/2.
Cut it 1 3/8 from the center seam.
Keep rotating and cutting until all sides are cut.
This will leave you with 9 sub-blocks.
Step 3:
Move two squares from opposite corners and exchange them.
They should now look like a bottle opener.
Sew them together with a 1/4 seam allowance.
This will be your main block.
