They will be for the corners of the blocks and theyre going to be cut differently.
Place the 5 line of the ruler on the edge and cut 7 triangle wedges from all strips.
Youll get a total of 21 from each fat quarter.
Youll need 224 pieces of light and 224 pieces of dark wedges.
Step 3:
For one block, you need 8 triangle wedges 4 lights and 4 darks.
Get one light and one dark and sew them together on one long side.
Repeat with 3 more pairs.
Once done, press the seam allowance to one side in the same way.
Stitch two of the pairs together, then sew the two half blocks together.
ensure you match up the middle seam intersections.
Trim off the corners.
Repeat the same process to make a total of 56 blocks.
Next, cut each strip into 5 squares for a total of 20 pieces of 3 1/2 squares.
Cut each square in half diagonally.
You need 112 squares for a total of 224 triangles.
Press the seam allowances away from the center and toward the outside corners.
Trim off all dog ears and make it a 9 1/2 block.
Step 6:
Arrange the blocks into 8 rows with 7 blocks in each row.
Alternate the blocks with light corners and the blocks with dark corners.
