Some would discard the oil upon one usage thinking that it was already too dirty to reuse.

Simply line a fine-mesh strainer with a coffee filter, then place it over a large container.
Pour the oil through the filter, then allow it to drain, and discard solids.
Stir it constantly for about 10 to 12 minutes or until the starch begins to solidify.
