After sewing, cut it diagonally from corner to corner and press it open.

Youre going to make eight sets of these for a total of 16.

The other ones you have to make next are the blocks sewn on white.

For this, take a 10 white square and a 10 printed square.

Draw a line from corner to corner and sew on both sides.

Youll get two of these out of each square.

Laying out the blocks to make the carpenter’s star quilt

So for the print on white, you need 16 squares to make a total of 32 half-square triangles.

Then, youre going to need some 9 & 1/2 white squares for a total of 16 of those.

So start with four rows of four in each row to make one quadrant.

Put these quadrants together and your quilt top will be finished.
