You only need simple ingredients to make this recipe at home.
If you cant find self-raising flour, do not worry!
It is equal to one cup of self-raising flour.
While baking, make the frosting.
Once the cake is cooled, spread the frosting on top, and its ready for slicing.
Start mixing on low speed using a hand mixer, then turn it higher and mix until well combined.
Step 2:
Grease a 9 x 3 round baking pan and transfer the batter.
Step 3:
Preheat your oven to 320F and place the rack on the middle or low.
Place the pan in the preheated oven and bake for 45 to 1 minute.
To peek if its done, insert a skewer in the center of the cake.
It should have tiny moist crumbs.
Once done, remove it from the pan and let it cool for a few minutes.
Step 4:
While waiting, make the lemon glaze.
In a different bowl, add softened butter, lemon zest, and lemon juice.
Mix on low speed until well combined.
Step 5:
Spread the frosting on top of the cake.
