If you place the blocks together, a secondary star block is formed, which I find absolutely beautiful.
You get two different star patterns in just one block.

It is a simple quilt project and not as complex as it may seem.
Be sure to save this pattern for later.
Draw a diagonal line from corner to corner, then sew 1/4 away on either side of the line.
Repeat with the other background and dark-colored 5-inch squares.
Cut directly on the line, then press each one open toward the dark side.
Draw a diagonal line from corner to corner on each pair.
Sew directly on the lines, trim off the excess, then press each one open.
Step 5:
Arrange all the pieces just like in the photo below.
Sew them in rows first.
Set the seams, then press them flat.
Next, sew the rows together to make the block.
