Next, the two units are sewn together to make a tube.
The tube is then cut into triangles.
Each triangle is opened and pressed flat into a square.
Four squares are sewn together in a four patch to get the summer squares block.

Step 2:
Place the two units on top of each other right sides together.
Sew on both sides to make a tube.
Step 3:
Lay the slotted trimmer on the stitch line.
Cut on both sides.
Flip your ruler, lay it on the stitch line again, and cut it on one side.
Repeat with the other sides.
you might also use your regular ruler, verify it is at a 45-degree angle.
Press each block open.
double-check the 1 1/2 strips have the same color.
