All you better make the diamond shapes arehalf-square triangles.
It is that easy.

Sew a 1/4 on either side of both diagonal lines.
Cut in half horizontally, vertically, and directly on the diagonal lines.
Press them open towards the dark side.
Repeat with the other half-square triangles.
see to it they all go in the same direction.
Sew them in pairs to make a block unit.
You need 10 rows with 8 blocks units each.
Sew them in rows first.
Once done, sew the rows together.
