Place them in a bowl of cold water for about 5 minutes.
This will help remove excess starch which can create a sticky texture on the outside.
Wrap them with the cheesecloth and squeeze out any excess liquid.
Mix everything well with a fork.
Step 4:
Place a pan over medium heat and add the vegetable oil.
Once the oil is hot, take a spoonful of the mixture and add to the pan.
Form each one into the shape of a hashbrown.
Fry for 4 to 5 minutes on each side until golden brown and crispy.
