Have a pack of layer cake and charm squares at home?
Heres a fun sewing project to make using 5-inch and 10-inch squares.
It is a quick and easy block that is perfect for beginners.

you’re free to definitely finish this quilt in a day.
Four pieces from different blocks are sewn together to create this lovely pattern.
I am sure youll have fun with this project.
Give it a try!
Place the charm square right side up, then the layer cake square on top right side up.
Pin it in place.
Sew with a 1/8 inch seam allowance from the inside of the pinked edge.
Start in the center of one side and stitch all the way around.
Step 2:
Cut the block in half horizontally and vertically.
Youll have a four-patch.
Step 3:
Repeat steps 1 and 2 for the remaining squares.
double-check the layer cake and charm square are in contrasting colors.

Sew them in pairs first with a 1/4 seam allowance.
Once done, sew them together to make the five and dime quilt block.
Set the seams and press it flat.
Sew 6 blocks in a row, confirm not to put the same fabrics together.
Be sure to nest the seams.
