The sewing process is not the same as making pinwheels.

Easy Friendship Pinwheel Quilt Materials

You wont be making half-square triangles for this pattern; youll be using thesnowballtechnique instead.

One of the squares will be your pinwheel.

Cut it in half horizontally and vertically.

How to Make a Friendship Pinwheel Quilt

Stack the two squares on top of each other.

Cut them in half, rotate, then cut 1/2 off the bottom.

Step 2:

Take 3 pieces of 10 white squares and repeat step 1.

Next, take two colored rectangles in different colors.

Place one square on top of the colored rectangle, right sides together.

Sew directly on the diagonal line.

Repeat with the remaining squares and colored rectangles.

Trim the excess for each one.

Set the seam and press open.

Step 4:

Get one unit from step 3 and take a background rectangle.

The long side of the triangle goes against your background rectangle.

Sew with a 1/4 seam allowance.

Repeat with the remaining units.

Press each one open.

Step 5:

Press the background squares in half diagonally.

Set the seam and press open.

Repeat with the remaining units and background squares.

Step 6:

Arrange the pieces just like in the photo below.

A pinwheel should form in the center.

Sew them together like a four-patch.

Make 4 rows with 3 blocks each.
