I love that it is filled with a lot of stars.
It may look like the quilt is made of two blocks, but it isnt.
It is not as hard as it looks, I promise.
You will only need to make four patches andhalf-square trianglesfor the main block.
Jenny Doan will even teach you how to easily make the four patches using the scrappy four-patch method.
Take two charms from your pack.
Get one and place a 5 background square on top of it.
Place a ruler diagonally from corner to corner and draw a line.
Sew 1/4 away from both sides of the line.
Cut directly on the line and press open towards the dark side.
Trim them into 4 1/2 squares.
Repeat with the other 5 square to make 4 half-square triangles.
Step 2:
Make a four patch.
Take one 5 colored square and one 5 background square.
Place them right sides together.
Sew just on the sides.
Cut directly in half parallel to your seams.
Press them open toward the dark side.
Make a bunch of these and sew them together in a row, making sure they are alternating.
Repeat until you finish the whole row.
Step 3:
Assemble the block.
Get a 4 1/2 printed square, 4 half square triangles, and 4 four-patches.
Arrange them just like in the photo below then sew them together.
Step 4:
Cut 12 1/2 background strips for your sashing.
Get one strip and 2 pieces of 2 1/2 printed squares.
confirm they are in the same direction.
Repeat with the other strips.
You will put them in between each block.
