One of the first patterns I have ever made is this half and half quilt byMissouri Star.
Its super easy and beginner-friendly, as it all starts with half-square triangles!
I really enjoyed making this beautiful block Im sure you will have fun making this as well.

Get one print square and a background square.
Place them right sides together, and sew around the block.
Cut it diagonally from corner to corner in both directions.
Press them open, then trim them into 6 1/2 squares.
Step 2:
Take one half-square triangle and cut it in half in both directions.
Now you have four squares.
Take the solid squares in opposite corners and swap them.
Sew the pieces together as a four-patch with a 1/4 seam allowance.
ensure they are lined up.
Repeat with the other half-square triangles.
Step 3:
Get four blocks with the same fabrics and arrange in a four patch.
All the white squares should meet in the middle.
Sew them together with a 1/4 seam allowance.
Once they are sewn, press them flat.
confirm that the first block on the second row is alternated with the first block on the first row.
Sew the rows together first.
Finally, sew them together.
You need 6 rows.
