Its one of my favorite patterns to make, especially if I have a gorgeous printed jelly roll.

Try making this today by following the steps in the video tutorial below.

Cutting the jelly roll to make the quilt block

Repeat these steps with all of the 42-count jelly roll strips.

Once you cut everything out, select one 2 1/2 square.

Step 2

Sew everything back together.

Assembling the hidden log quilt block

Then, sew the fourth print to the left and top side of the unit.

Repeat these steps until you have a total of 42 8 1/2 quilt blocks.

Once done, lay them out in a 6 x 7 block layout while rotating each block 90 degrees.

Sew the blocks together to form rows, then sew those rows together to complete the quilt top.
