I have a pair of Birkenstocks at home, and it is my favorite sandals to wear for errands.
Its warm, super comfy, and just goes well with any outfit.
I still remember the first time I bought it.

But it looks completely different now.
After several uses, it looks dirty and a bit gross.
The footbeds turned black, and I am sometimes ashamed when people saw it.
Yes, I could buy a new pair, but lets be honest, its expensive.
Nothing was damaged, and it still worked great, so why buy a new one?
I looked for video tutorials on YouTube and foundAmber Resells video on how to clean Birkenstocks properly.
I immediately gathered all the products that I needed.
Luckily, I already had all of them, as it only required basic household items.
You only need baking soda, dish soap, and water for thehomemade cleaning solution.
I did the same steps in the DIY tutorial, and the results were amazing.
My sandals look so much better now!
No more black footbeds for me.
Step 3:
Wipe off the solution with a clean dry rag.
It will have a white residue but do not worry.
Step 4:
Get the other rag and damp it.
double-check to wring it out.
Do not use a very wet rag.
Gently wipe the footbed to remove the residue.
