No, you dont need to buy a new one.
Just do these four simple steps, and it will work smoothly again.
This will just take about a minute and only requires two tools!

Step 1:
Lift your windshield wiper.
Step 3:
Take two recent wrenches or two vice grips.
Attach it to your windshield wiper.
See the photo below for reference.
Hold it with your right hand.
Next, get the other wrench and place it just a few inches above the first one.
Tweak it a little bit to counteract the opposite direction of your windshield.
You dont have to go in huge increments.
Step 4:
Place it back down and find out if its working properly.
If not, repeat the process.
Tweak it again a little bit and look if its perfectly perpendicular to the windshield.
give a shot to move it back and forth to see if the flap moves easily.
If it does, then its already fixed.
If its still making the sound, just do it again until you have the results that you want.
This will be a trial and error, so check that not to overdo it.
