This gas is naturally produced by vegetables and fruits.
A great example is apples.

If you compare premade salads to fruits in different containers, you will notice that the latter deteriorates slower.
If you want to ripen vegetables or fruits faster, place them beside apples.
you’re able to also put a paper towel inside to remove excess moisture.
Seal, leaving a small opening on the end, then remove the air by sucking it out.
you might also use a straw to vacuum seal it.
Just simply insert the straw on the small opening, and suck the air out.
If your lettuce didnt come with a plastic bag, do the same process.
The plastic bag will protect your lettuce from ethylene gas from outside sources.
