For this tutorial, were going to tackle it block by block.

Putting the backing, batting, and the quilt block together

Once you know how big the sections are going to be, cut your backing and batting pieces.

First, cut the batting to the finished size of your block.

For the backing, cut it much larger than your quilt.

Hand stitching the back seam closed

Now, layer them together starting with backing, the batting, and the quilt block.

Baste them together how you like.

Now, flip it over and put its right sides together with the other quilted piece.

Line up the raw edge of the tops, then clip to hold it in place.

Take it to the machine and carefully sew the pieces together.

Press it right in place, then hand stitches it close.
