You will only need two simple things for this method.

Put it directly on the wax stain and pour hot water directly over it.
(It doesnt need to be a lot of water, a small amount is enough).
(Be careful as the water is still hot at this point).
The heat should now slowly loosen the wax from the table.
After a while, simply wipe the wax stain off.
