It will taste similar to, if not better than, the cakes you buy from bakeries.
Try this doctored cake mix at home!
Add the rest of the ingredients and mix on low speed for a minute.
Step 3:
Turn it off, and scrape the sides of the bowl.
Turn it on again and mix on medium speed for two minutes.
Step 4:
Divide the batter equally into your cake pans and place in the preheated oven.
Step 5:
Make the chocolate frosting.
Add semi-sweet chocolate in a heat-proof bowl.
Place a medium pot over medium-high heat, then add heavy whipping cream, stirring occasionally to prevent burning.
Once the steam is rising, remove it from the heat and pour over the chocolate.
Let it sit for 5 minutes.
Add salt and whisk until smooth.
Pour into a shallow dish and cover with plastic wrap.
Let it cool to room temperature.
Step 6:
Frost the cake.
