Step 1

To start, make the four-patch units.

Grab red and white jelly strips and stitch them together with a 1/4 seam allowance, then press open.

Make two of these.

Once done, lay the two together on the right side, then cut 2 1/2 strips.

After this, sew these pairs together to make the four-patch units.

Now, make the half-square triangles.

Grab one white 5 square, fold it corner to corner to make a crease, then open it.

Next, lay one red 5 square over it, then bring it to the sewing machine.

Sew a 1/4 seam on either side of the crease line.

Cut it in half, press it open, and then square it up.

Step 2

Now, assemble the block.

double-check to line up the blocks according to their color.

Once done, sew them in rows, then sew those rows together to complete the block.
