Pecans are my favorite and have already tried different Southern recipes using this ingredient.
One of the recent desserts that I made at home is this Kentucky butter poke cake byCatherines Plates.
My family loved it so much!

It was so easy to prepare and delicious.
I will definitely make this again and again.
Stir well, then let it sit for 5 minutes.
It should have a thick consistency.
Step 3:
Transfer the cake batter to the prepared dish and spread it evenly.
Bake it in the oven for 28 to 30 minutes until golden brown.
To peek if its done, insert a toothpick in the center of the cake.
If it comes out clean, your cake is ready.
Set it aside to cool.
Step 4:
While baking, toast the pecans.
Place a medium skillet over medium to medium-high heat, then add the pecans.
Toast for 4 to 5 minutes.
Once fragrant, transfer to a small dish to cool.
Step 5:
Make the icing.
Place 8 oz of softened cream cheese and 1/2 cup of soft butter into a large microwave-safe bowl.
Melt in the microwave for 1 minute or longer.
Next, add the vanilla and milk.
Whisk until well combined.
Lastly, mix in the powdered sugar.
Step 6:
Poke holes in the cake.
Pour the icing all over the cake, then immediately add the toasted pecans.
