This modern one color quilt is an interesting pattern that I recently discovered from theFat Quarter Shop.

I usually prefer classic patterns but this one is an exception.

The steps are very easy to follow and not complicated at all.

5 pieces of 2 x WOF strips, then sub-cut to 96 pieces of 2 squares.

24 pieces of 2 x WOF strips then sub-cut to 96 pieces of 2 x 7 rectangles.

For the binding, you need 7 pieces of 2 1/2 x WOF strips.

Press the seam towards the darker fabric.

Repeat until you have 96 pieces of unit A.

Place one square on top of the rectangle, right sides together.

Draw a diagonal line on the square, then sew on the line.

Trim off excess fabric 1/4 away from the seam.

Press towards the darker fabric.

Sew on the marked line, then trim the excess fabric 1/4 away from the seam.

This will be unit B.

Press toward the darker fabric.

Repeat to make 48 pieces of unit B. double-check that the squares on the ends are away from the ends of the diagonal line in the center.

Draw a diagonal line across each square, then sew on the drawn line.

Trim off excess fabric 1/4 away from the seams.

Press open and make 48 more blocks.

Step 7:

Lay the blocks into 8 rows of 6 blocks.

Step 8:

Sew the rows together, then press the seams open.
