It is number four from a stash series, hence the block name.
I bet youll have fun making this pattern.
The block starts with a pinwheel.
It is one of the most basic blocks, so you wont have trouble making one.
Just sew four half-square triangles together just like a four-patch.
Then rectangles are placed on each side of thepinwheel blockand the small background squares fill the corners.

Sew from corner to corner.
Repeat with the remaining 2 colored squares and 2 background squares.
Trim 1/4 away from the seam.
Step 2:
Take one of the rectangles and sew a corner square on both ends.
Repeat one more time.
Step 3:
Make the pinwheel.
Arrange the four half-square triangles into a pinwheel.

see to it not to put the same colors together.
The colors should be alternating.
Sew them together in pairs first, then press the seams open.
Sew the pairs together to make the pinwheel block.
Step 4:
Arrange the pieces just like in the photo below.
Start by sewing the rectangles to the sides of the pinwheel block.
Press the seams open, then flatten.
Lastly, sew the top and bottom unit strips to the block.
Press the seams and flatten.
