Step 2:

Brown the beef in batches.

Cook until browned on all sides.

Transfer to a plate.

Add the garlic and a little bit of oil.

Saute for a few minutes then add 2 tablespoons of tomato paste.

Cook for a minute.

Step 4:

Bring back the meat and add 6 tablespoons of all-purpose flour.

Mix until well incorporated and cook for about 2 minutes.

Add dry red wine and deglaze the pot.

Next, add the beef broth, thyme, rosemary, and bay leaf.
