Turn the mixer on (or use a handheld mixer) and mix everything until well combined.

Mix until the butter fully melts and everything is well combined.
Once the butter melted, bring the heat up a bit, then simmer it for five minutes uncovered.
(Keep stirring while it cooks to prevent it from sticking at the bottom.)
After five minutes, remove it from the heat, then stir in 1 tsp vanilla extract.
Next, add 1 cup of chopped walnuts (or pecans) and 1 cup of sweetened shredded coconut.
Mix everything well, then set aside.
