Once done sewing, cut right on the line, then trim them down to 4 1/2.

Next, make the triangles.
Cut some rectangles first, then cut them at the diagonal to form the triangles.
After sewing, press it open, then rotate the block.
Keep rotating the block until you finish attaching triangles around.
After this, trim off the excess and square up your block.
