You need 25 pieces.
Out of one strip, youll get 16 squares, so you will need 2 strips.
Step 2:
Get a light strip and cut a 2 1/2 square.
Sew it to one center square with a 1/4 seam allowance.
Step 3:
Get a dark strip and lay it on your units right sides together.
Sew it on the side of the center square, and cut the excess.
Remember, you are working on the dark side.
Cut the excess and press it open.
Sew it with a 1/4 seam allowance, then trim off the excess and press it open.
Trim off the excess and press it flat.
Step 6:
Now, you have the block.
Trim it into a square.
