Its so buttery and fluffy, perfect with your main dishes or jam.
They can be served during holidays, celebrations, or at family dinners.
Pair them with tomato soup, mashed potatoes, or roast chicken.
Add 3 tablespoons of warm water and whisk again.
Set aside for 5 minutes.
Whisk until well combined.
Add milk, butter, egg, and yeast mixture.
Using a wooden spoon, stir the mixture until dough forms.
Step 4:
Transfer the dough into a lightly oiled bowl, turning it around to coat.
Cover the bowl with a plastic wrap.
Place in a warm place and let it rise until doubled in size for about 1 to 2 hours.
Step 5:
Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
Remove the cling wrap, then punch down the dough to remove the air.
Bring it together into a ball, then divide the dough into 16 balls.
Place them side by side, lightly touching, into four rows of four.
Cover the dough balls loosely with plastic wrap.
Place on a warm spot for about 45 minutes.
Step 6:
Preheat your oven to 375F.
Make the egg wash.
In a small bowl, whisk one egg and 2 teaspoons of water.
Strain the egg water mixture to discard stringy pieces.
Sprinkle flakey sea salt on top if preferred.
