They are soft and chewy, just as you like your cookies.

Preheat your oven to 350F and line a cookie sheet with parchment paper.

How to Make Butter Pecan Cookies

Step 2:

Add the pecan halves to the prepared cookie sheet, then spread evenly.

Bake at 350F for 3 to 5 minutes.

Once done, remove it from the oven, but do not turn it off.

Set it aside while preparing the cookie dough.

Step 3:

Make the cookie dough.

In a large bowl, combine melted butter and sugars.

Stir until well combined.

Add the eggs, egg yolk, and vanilla extract.

Step 4:

Get a separate medium-sized bowl.

Add flour, cornstarch, baking soda, baking powder, and salt.

Step 5:

Gradually add the flour mixture to the wet mixture, mixing until completely combined.

Step 7:

Line a cookie sheet with parchment paper.

Get a heaping tablespoon of the cookie dough, then drop it into the prepared cookie sheet.

Repeat with the remaining cookie dough.

Space them at least 2 apart.
