Each block measures 8, and the finished quilt measures 72 x 72.

Trim the selvage edge.
Cut 2 1/2 twice, then cut 4 1/2 rectangles twice.
Keep them in piles.
Fold the squares into half diagonally to make a crease.
double-check they are going the same direction.
Once done, trim the excess 1/4 away from the seams.
Step 3:
Arrange in pairs just like in the photo below.
Step 4:
Assemble the block just like a four-patch.
Sew them together and press it flat.
Repeat with the other pairs.
You need 7 rows with 7 blocks each.
Sew them in rows first.
Once done, sew the rows together.
