This is a super easy block trust me!
It starts from half-square triangles, so its great for beginners.
Draw a diagonal line from corner to corner on each stack.
Sew 1/4 away from the line on both sides for both stacks.
Once done, sew directly on the line, then open each one.
Flatten them with an iron and trim them into 5.25 x 5.25 blocks.
Now you have half-square triangles.
Step 2:
Arrange the four blocks into an hourglass.
The ones with dark fabrics should point toward the center and the light fabrics toward the outside.
Sew them together in rows first with a quarter of an inch seam allowance.
Once done, sew the rows together.
Flatten with an iron.
Step 4:
Rotate all the surrounding blocks except for the middle 180 degrees.
It should look like the photo below.
Sew them in rows first, then flatten them.
Once done, sew the rows together to make the block with a quarter of an inch seam allowance.
After that, trim it into an 8.5 block.
Step 5:
Make three more of the same blocks.
Step 6:
There are several ways to arrange the four blocks.
you’re free to flip them and see what you like most.
when you land decided, sew in rows first.
After that, sew them together to make the block.
Quilt the block and bind.
