Pin to secure, and trim it to 9 & 1/2 square using a 9 & 1/2 squared-up ruler.

Make 40 of these units, then sub-cut them into quarters.

Now, you have 160 squares that youll also cut on the diagonal to have 32o half-square triangles.

Press them to one side, then press the seams open.

Step 2

Now, start assembling the star cakes block.

Sew together the center seam, and press to the bottom.

Stitch all the way down, press the top to the right, and the bottom to the left.

Stitch your center seam, and press to the bottom.

Make a total of 20 star cakes blocks.

Step 3

Now, assemble four blocks and three sashing rectangles.

Press toward the sashing and make five.

Assemble these rows with four fabric D strips.

Attach your side borders, press, attach your top and bottom borders, and press.

Your quilt is now finished.
