You have the star in the center and triangles in the corners.

When the blocks are sewn together, the triangles form into a pinwheel.

Next, sub-cut them into 2 1/2 squares.

You should have 8 squares.

Step 3:

Make the legs of the stars.

Sew diagonally from corner to corner.

Once done, trim above the sewn line, and iron it.

Repeat to the other side.

see to it it creates a V in the center.

Repeat 3 more times to make 4 flying geese units.

Once done, press them open.

These will be the legs of your star.

Make them into flying geese again.

Once done, sew the 4 1/2 by 2 1/2 background rectangle on the top.

Repeat 3 more times to make a total of 4.

Step 7:

Arrange all the blocks.

Refer to the photo below for the arrangement.

Sew them in rows first.

Remember to press the top and bottom seams out and the middle seam in.

Once done, sew the rows together.

You need 30 blocks for this quilt.
