For the dark fabric, cut four 3 1/2 x WOF and four 2 1/2 x WOF strips.

Now, make four different strip sets.
Join the following rows in order starting from the top using a 1/4 seam allowance.
First: one 9 1/2 x WOF and 3 1/2 x WOF.
Second: 3 1/2 x WOF and 9 1/2 x WOF.
After piecing these, press initiate the seam allowance towards the dark fabric.
Sew these together to form a block.
Sew these blocks together to complete the quilt top.
