I am going to be honest.
This homemade recipe is way better than the original one.
It is more flavorful.
The homemade marinara sauce, meatballs, and garlic butter spread are hard to beat.
It will surely be one of your favorite meals once you try it.
Making this subway meatball sub copycat recipe at home is so worth it.
Try it to find out what I am talking about.
Add some olive oil to a skillet.
Once hot, add the minced garlic and diced onion.
Season with the salt, pepper.
garlic powder, onion powder, and red pepper flakes.
Mix in the tomato paste.
Step 2:
Add the crushed tomatoes, chopped basil, and parmesan cheese.
Mix until well combined.
Make a taste test.
Adjust seasonings if needed.

Place in the oven for about 5 to 6 minutes.

Spread the marinara sauce, then add the meatballs.
Top with mozzarella cheese on top.
Place in the broiler until the cheese melts.
Grate parmesan cheese on top.
Garnish with chopped basil or parsley.
