I like that it is different from all the patterns I did before.

This pattern combines two simple blocks the wonky star block and the summer in the park block.

The star blocks dont need to be perfect that is why they are called wonky stars.

Easy Summer Stars Picnic Quilt Materials

Give this pattern a try and use it for your next picnic!

Reserve for the stars.

Make the summer in the park block.

How to Make the Summer Stars Picnic Quilt Materials

Take one light and one dark strips.

Sew them together on the side with a quarter of an inch seam allowance.

Repeat with another pair.

Sew the two pairs together on the top and bottom to make a tube.

Step 2:

Take the slotted trimmer and place on the folded 4 unit strip.

Line on the stitch line and cut on the diagonal sides.

Rotate the trimmer for the next one, then cut.

Repeat for the whole strip set.

Step 3:

Arrange four blocks just like in the photo below.

Sew them together like a four patch.

You need four blocks for each row.

Step 4:

Make the wonky star.

Take the four yellow strips and cut into 2 1/2 squares.

You need 5 yellow squares and 8 pieces of 2 1/2 white squares.

Take 4 pieces of yellow and 4 pieces of white.

Place the yellow on top of a white.

The corner of the yellow should be on the middle of the white.

Sew it in place.

Repeat for the remaining 3 pairs.

Use the excess pieces to make the other legs.

Arrange all the squares like a nine patch.

There will be 7 stars in one row.

Add the inner border and the outer border.
