Cut it in the diagonal and set it aside.
Your diagonal measurement plus one will be the size of your strips.
The diagonal measurement of this block is 7 inches, so your strip is going to be 8 inches.
Cut your strips in that size.
Step 2:
Get your triangles and fold them in half, right sides together.
Bring them to the iron and touch the inside curve so it makes a little crease.
Next, take your 8-inch strip, fold it in half, and make a crease.
Grab where they match up exactly and put a pin.
Sew with a quarter of an inch straight on the edge.
Next, line up the other triangle and sew.
Step 3:
Fold it in half and gently iron it.
Use the edge of the triangle as your measuring edge and cut the excess to make a square.
Open and press it.
Step 4:
Repeat steps 1 to 3 for the other squares.
You need 12 blocks across and 13 down for a total of 156 blocks.
Step 5:
Arrange the squares.
double-check you are matching color to color and white to white, so they line up.
You should keep the lights and darks evenly distributed.
When you sew them together, verify the white part and the corners line up.
