Jenny Doan added some twists to it and was able to create this lovely design.
This design still requires you to make nine patch blocks.
If you have made them before, the process will be easier for you.

It is also a great way to use the nine-patch blocks you have at home.
If you have a stack of them, now is the perfect time to use them.
This project is easy and fun, and you might easily finish it in a day.
For detailed instructions, watch the video below.
Cut four pieces of 4 1/2 x 2 1/2 rectangles.
Repeat with other print strips.
launch the remainder of three strips and sew them together.
Press the seams so they go out.
Step 2:
Cut the 3-unit strip into 2 1/2 strips.
Step 3:
Pick three pieces from the strips, then sew them into a nine patch.
Step 5:
Fold the 2 1/2 squares in half diagonally to make a crease.
Get one of the rectangles and place a 2 1/2 square on one end.
Sew directly on the crease line.
Trim 1/4 away from the sewn line and repeat with the other end.
Repeat the process with three more rectangles to make four flying geese.
Step 6:
On the left end of four flying geese, sew a 2 1/2 square.
