With the remaining background, use it for your sashing and border.
Now, using your two 5 squares, cut fourteen 1 x 2 1/2 rectangles.
Once done, cut a 45-degree diagonal twice in both directions, giving you four half-square triangles.
(Trim these down to 3 1/2 squares.)
Sew these all together to complete the tree block.
Repeat these steps until you have fourteen trees.
when you’ve got all your blocks, sew two rows with seven trees in each row.
Then, take one of them and rotate it upside down.
