Turning your old pair of jeans into a bag is not as hard as you think.
Its actually easy and fun!

Cut the bottom edges of the shorts as well.
If you are using jeans, cut it just below the crotch point.
Measure the denim fabric and cut the lining fabric with that measurement.

Do the same for the lining fabric.
Step 4:
Sew in the middle and the bottom edge.
Next, sew the opened corners together close, and make box corners.
Flip it right side out.
Do the same for the lining fabric, but confirm to leave an opening.
Flip it right side out through the opening, then sew it to close.
Step 6:
Get the bottom edges from earlier and cut to the measurement of your handles.
If you are using a pair of jeans, you could make handles using rectangular fabric pieces.
Sew the handles on both sides on the top and you are done!
