It all depends on your preference.

Be as creative as you want to be.

It is also a great way to reuse your fabric scraps.

If you have plenty, get them out of your closet and start making this beautiful pattern.

How to Make a Wonky Christmas Tree Quilt

Cut them into wonky strips using a ruler.

Step 2:

Stack the colored fabrics.

Set the width at a minimum of 1 1/2 inches when cutting them into wonky strips.

There is no right or wrong way to do this.

Step 3:

Get one tree trunk block, then start layering the wonky-colored strips on top.

Go from wide to skinny on one layer, then skinny to wide on the second layer.

Repeat for the next layers.

you’ve got the option to mix up the linear prints with circular prints.

Avoid mixing linear prints that go in the same direction.

Layer 5 to 7 strips in one set to make a nice tall Christmas tree.

Step 4:

Trim the block to a nice triangle shape.

Do not include the trunk block when cutting the triangle shape.

you’re free to piece the scraps together to create more Christmas trees.

Step 5:

Take a 6-inch wide background fabric.

you’re free to adjust the width of the fabric.

Repeat with the other side.

Step 6:

Cut the block into a rectangle.
